- Submitted Links & Custom Aliases: When you shorten a link, we store the original destination URL, generated or custom back-half (slug), creation timestamp, and any configured expiration date or password hash in our database.
- UTM Parameters: Any campaign tags (e.g., utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) that you append to your links are included in the stored target destination URL.
- Redirect Click Telemetry: When someone visits or clicks a shortened link, our server records the timestamp, referring URL (if provided by the visitor's browser), user-agent string (browser/device type), and incoming IP address (provided via Cloudflare edge headers) to calculate aggregate click counts and protect against abusive traffic.
- Rate Limiting Data: To prevent denial of service and automated spam abuse, IP addresses are temporarily logged with timestamps to enforce rate limits (up to 10 creation requests per minute).
- Browser Local Storage: For your convenience, your recently generated short links and dark/light color mode preferences are stored locally in your browser's
localStorage. This data remains on your device and can be cleared by you at any time.
2. How We Use the Data
Information collected is used strictly for the following operational purposes:
- Executing fast HTTP 301/302 redirects from short links to original destinations.
- Providing creators with accurate click counts, top referrers, and device breakdown for their links.
- Enforcing acceptable use, preventing malware and phishing distribution, and preventing automated abuse.
- Analyzing aggregate, non-personally identifiable site usage to maintain and optimize service performance.
3. Third-Party Infrastructure & Analytics
We rely on reputable technical infrastructure providers to host and secure our service:
- Cloudflare: Our website and serverless APIs run on Cloudflare Pages and D1 database. Cloudflare acts as our edge reverse proxy, providing DDoS mitigation, CDN caching, and TLS encryption.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand general website traffic and improve user experience. Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser to collect anonymized visitor interaction data.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any submitted URLs, IP logs, or visitor data to data brokers or third-party marketers.
4. Data Retention & Link Deletion
Shortened links remain active indefinitely by default unless created with an expiration limit or removed for violating our Terms of Service (such as malware or phishing). Users can clear their local link history from their browser at any time using the "Clear All" button in the history manager.

5. Security Practices
All network traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS (TLS 1.3). Database access is restricted to authenticated serverless backend execution environments. While no web platform can guarantee absolute security, we implement continuous defenses to safeguard service integrity.
